PRCI Media person of the Year (2014-15) 'Partho' is no more

We regret to inform you that veteran business journalist Parthasarathi Swami, Managing Editor of Business India, passed away around 11 pm on Monday.

Partho, as he was fondly called, began his career with the Anand Bazar Patrika group where he was with Business Standard. Later, he joined India Today and then Business World. He had a brief stint with Sunday Observer before joining Business India.

A journalist with immense sense of pride, Partho did several stories - analytical and  hard  hitting. He had been a long standing member of Mumbai Press Club.

Partho was recipient of PRCI Media person of the Year award in print category.

A resident of Seawoods, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, Partho was cremated at Belapur, Navi Mumbai this morning.

He leaves behind wife Alka, daughter Nisha and son Nikhil.

PRCI, Mumbai Press Club pay tributes to Parho's memory and offer condolences to Alka, Nisha and Nikhil.

PUNE: Barun Jha, joint editor of Press Trust of India (PTI) and Madan Bahal, Managing Director of Adfactors have been felicitated with prestigious PRCI awards at the 12^th Global Communication Conclave held at Pune over the week-end.

Barun has won the Chanakya Award under media person of the year (print) and Chandramohan Puppala under electronic categories, while Madan has been felicitated with the Communicator of the Decade (K R Singh Memorial award).

Most experienced film and entertainment professional Amit Khanna has been awarded the Communicator of the Year under Films while young writer Varsha Seshan under literature.

G Srinivasan, CMD of the country’s largest non-life insurer New India Assurance Company Limited has been honoured with the Financial Communicator of the Year award.

Cochin Shiyard has won the Corporate Citizen of the Year award, India’s second largest tractor maker TAFE the Communication idea of the year (for Farm Dost) and CMS Infosystems the Organisation of the Year for Excellence in PR.
