Kerala PRCI honours inspiring daughters

  • Educate girls for India’s future, says Sreekumari Ramachandran


ERANAKULAM: The Kerala Chapter of PRCI has celebrated the Daughters’ Day in association with the Ernakulam Press Club, in memory of Indo-US astronaut Kalpana Chawla.
Noted Malayalam litterateur Ms. Sreekumari Ramachandran, who is also a leading  Social worker, was the Chief Guest. In her speech, She stressed the importance of educating girl children for building the future of India with them.
Two achievers, Ms Stephy Zavior and Ms Malu Shaika, were honored on the occasion.
Malu Shaika:  A graduate in commerce, Malu is currently preparing for her Civil Services exam. Residing in a hostel at Aluva, she works as both Insurance Advisor and Driving Instructor.  She can handle Two wheelers as well as and Heavy Vehicles. Malayala Manorama featured her on 19 February 2017 on her achievement of being the first ever girl to swim across the Vembanadu Lake making her popular. It was the situations she faced in real life that motivated her to swim across the Vembanadu Lake. Most girls in our Society either conceal their dreams within or feel they do not have the means to achieve it. Malu believes that if we pursue our ambitions with all sincerity, we can achieve them.

Stephy Zavior:  Stephy Zavior is a bright young talent in Malayalam Industry, who made a mark in the male dominated world of Costume Designing through her fascinating experiments. Stephy, who proved her excellence by being the proud recipient of the last year’s   Kerala state film award, is also the youngest person to get the honour. It is the feature film titled “Guppy” which got her the recognition, She has also received the Abu Memorial Award for Costume Designing.
Stephy, who grew up in a village in Wayanad lost her father at the tender age of 10. From there, inspired by the Hollywood Movie “Titanic”, Stephy went on to conquer all the obstacles and sought a place for herself in the film industry.
Stephy made a name for herself through the brand new experiments, by collaborating with the popular directors and production companies in the South Indian film Industry, after graduating from National Institute of Fashion Technology.
Stephy’s popular works include films such as : Lord Livingston 7000 Kandi, Great Father, Darwinte Parinamam, Luka Chuppi, Guppy, Ezra, Angamaly Diaries.


PRCI Kerala Chapter Secretary T Vinay Kumar welcomed the gathering and explained the importance of Daughters’ Day and the role of PRCI. U S Kutty, Chairman PRCI, Kerala Chapter proposed the vote of thanks. PRCI Kerala Chapter Treasurer P K Natesh, Ernakulam Press Club President K Ravikumar, Secretary S Unnikrishnan were also present.

After Dubai, PRCI-i spreading wings

DUBAI:  In a move that will strengthen the bond among media and PR professionals across the world, India’s largest communicators body Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) has initiated steps to form its international chapters.
After the launch of PRCI-i (International) at Dubai recently,  the organization has initiated steps to launch other global chapters.
“This is only a beginning and we will soon have PRCI-i Chapters in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, UK and USA,” said global wing Director T Vinay Kumar.
Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) is a premier non-political and not-for-profit organization of professionals in the fields of public relations, communication, advertising and many other allied services. It has been actively pursuing the spread and popularity of communication and Public Relation in India. It has close to 30 Chapters pan-India.
Recently, PRCI launched its global endeavour by initiating formation of its UAE Chapter and is working on setting up its wings in Australia, the US and Europe.
“PRCI today has emerged as one of the foremost platforms for PR and Communication professionals for global exchange of ideas in areas of public relations, corporate communication, advertising, brand management and academics,” said the organisation’s  Chief Mentor and Chairman Emeritus.
PRCI has successfully conducted ten global conferences and five international meets till date. It’s much vied annual prestigious awards: Chanakya Awards, PR Hall of Fame Awards & Corporate Collateral awards are like Oscars of PR & Communication world. Every year hundreds of achievers in the media & journalism, corporate communication & advertising, public & social services get recognized by PRCI in gala global conclaves in the major cities across India.

PRCI organises symposiums, seminars, conferences, knowledge forums and workshops regularly in all its active chapters, said PRCI Governing Council Chairman R T Kumar.
 “PRCI is also promoting knowledge forums on various business and media platforms,” said its national president B N Kumar. In its endeavor to promote skill development, PRCI has initiated training programmes for upcoming with the help of veteran communication professionals and senior journalists across India. In a first such move, PRCI has formed a Guest Faculty Pool with media and PR professionals to conduct practical training for mass communication students in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kochi, Pune and Delhi, he said.
In 2013, PRCI launched its youth wing – Young Communicators Club (YCC) - across its chapters in the country. This platform gives an opportunity to the students of Journalism & Mass Communication and Business Management to learn the ropes of the industry and get industry ready after interacting with eminent media personalities through a series of workshops, seminars, contests and creative events and festivals, said YCC chairperson Geetha Shankar.

PRCI Kerala joins Onam celebrations with Press Club

KOCHI: PRCI Kerala chapter has joined the Press Club-Kochi in celebrating Onam at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium.
K Babu, Hon. Minister for Fisheries, Ports & Excise inaugurated the celebrations.

Prof K V Thomas MP and Chairman Public Accounts Committee was the Chief Guest. N Venugopal. Chairman  Greater Cochin Development Authority, C Rajagopal. Chairman Minorities Cell BJP, Leno Jacob, Councillor Cochin Municipal Corporation, SAS Navaz IRS (Retd) Secretary RAC, T Vinay Kumar, Secretary Public Relations Council of India - Kerala Chapter, Kaithapram Viswanathan Namboodiri, Music Director, P K Natesh Treasurer PRCI Kerala Chapter, K Ravikumar, President Press Club and S Unnikrishnan, Secretary Press Club took part in the festivities.

PRCI Kerala Secy has new role - Heads ARSCK, launches Kerala Club Times

KOLLAM: Kerala Club Times, official Newsletter of the Association of Registered Social Clubs of Kerala (ARSCK) was officially released at a function held at Ramavarma Club, Kollam by the President T.Vinay Kumar.


Vinay Kumar, who is also the Secretary of Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), Kerala Chapter, handed over a copy of the publication to Adv. Philip Abraham, Secretary of  Ramavarma Club Alleppey (picturted).
